Since compagnies as sounblaster (major in sound system) does'nt accord any interest in windows vista, as they proved by not providing driver for their products, it is clear, that even if Microsoft is releasing "A Grande Pompe" their product as Beta, the only interest in Microsoft is presenting a nice interface with nothing in it...maybe the command prompt look good... but nothing to do with multimedia announced, worst no modem could instlall at all.. Web for vista... héhé... when microsoft will realized that they can't do it without major in industries, ou major will realized that they can't do without microsoft, maybe a presentation or release of a Beta will go. But for now on, all custommer, company, or particular should remain with their old OS (even win95) until the end, because I never have a thread from my sound card first.. No media... no Vista
If it aint broke then dont fix it, meaning if the computer fits the function running win95 then why bother to change it? If something is not compatible due to a manufacturer not wanting to deal with the new OS, then guess you are SOL. Remember that this is a BETA, not an actual public release, if you read the EULA it will mention that support is limited and that this is an INCOMPLETE product. Feel lucky that they are giving you the chance to check something out before the general public gets their grubby mits on it. -- My cobra went crazy because I play the wrong tune and it hit me in the eye with it''s teeth.

I agree with doctor Gonzo. Don't tell me you didn't know all the while that this version of Windows Vista is a beta? Beta means not all features are included because this OS is still in testing. You are very very very lucky to get to try this because the real thing cost a lot. This is in beta mode, that means no drivers for window vista are available. I am still thankful with this beta although I can't run the Aero Glass effect, which is the most important feature in Windows Vista. And you should too.

Nothing new here. This is the same story for every Windows beta. A small handful of companies might release beta drivers during beta stages. Most hold off on development ($$) until the operating system is very near or at RTM level.
